The name Schober has already been inseparably linked to the Gastein valley since the 17th century but everything really started in 1987. At that time, the Stubnerkogel cable car at the bottom was rebuilt and Sport Schober was founded: with the rental of 350 pairs of skies and depots.

From the very beginning innovation and quality were important to us. That way, the most modern ski grinding machine in the Gastein valley was taken into operation in the first month. The upward trend continued and the need for our service kept on increasing. In order to meet the requirements we continued developing and made sustainable investments. With the sale of skis, shoes, bindings and top quality accessories we enlarged our range, focusing on "quality".

In 1993, when the Goldbergbahn cable car was built in Sport Gastein, we established a new site at the station at the bottom, where we also offer ski rental, service and a range of accessories.
